This story goes that this recipe was requested by a guest at the Waldorf Astoria Restaurant...
And the chef supplied it with a billing for $1,000. The guest was advised she had to pay the bill as it was a proprietary recipe & he had requested and received it.
Ingredients:
flour a 9 x 13: pan
275 degrees @ 50 minutes
4 c. flour sifted (or 3.5+ unsifted)
2 c sugar
5 T cocoa
1 Tbs & 1 tsp baking soda
Sift these together; set aside, then add:
2 c. water
1.5 cups Miracle Whip salad dressing
2 tsp vanilla
Procedure:
It is very moist and needs no frosting... only a light glaze over the top, if wanted
Original recipe was 1/2 of this recipe & made a very small cake (only baked 35 min)
